From 26th to 29th of August 2021, the DVRPS Association organized an international SAR camp in Vršič. 28 dog handlers participated at the camp.  

There were 9 members of DVRPS (Primož Bajt with Rina, Alenka Fritzel with Brina, Silvana Šneberger with Lola, Vesna Žagar with Yaffa, Špela Tomažinčič with Juna,Weber Dušan with Ares, Andrej Indihar with Meli, Nataša Bregar with Ajka and Miha Kavčič with Nala). Other participants came from Croatia, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia.

The participants of the camp started to gather at Koča na Gozdu on Thursday afternoon. This was followed by a pleasant gathering with grilled food. Due to the rain, we later moved to the hut, where the official opening of the camp followed and the presentation of the most basic information about the work in the following days.

Training began Friday at 8:30 p.m.
Participants were divided into 3 groups according to the age and experience of the dog. Each group trained in the morning and afternoon with the same instructor, the next day the groups rotated and switched the instructor.

 The instructors covered the following areas:

- Andrej Žunič (dog indication and barrel training)
- Andrej Indihar (GPS management and path search)
- Neven Putar (night path search)
- Dušan Weber (dog indication, sector search)

The instructors adapted to each dog handler and dog individually and designed the training so that all participants could gain new knowledge and experience.
Night searches along the route were also organized, which were attended by most of the dog handlers and their dogs. However, we could choose between a shorter half-hour or a longer one-hour option.

The camp was perfectly organized. The trainings were interesting and tailored to each dog handler and dog. The camp ended on Sunday around 5 p.m.
