The course was held in Vršič, we stayed in Koča na Gozd. The course was attended by 24 guides from Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Croatia and Slovenia. Miha Kavčič with Nala, Andrej Indihar with Meli, Nataša Bregar with Ajka and Cubot and representative of the small school Peter Pogačar with Back were present at the course from our association. The course was led by Alois Balog (AT), Neven Putar (CRO), Andrej Žunič (SI) and Dušan Weber (SI).

Since there was not enough snow around the house, we prepared the work sites at the top of the Vršič Pass. Two groups worked immediately above the parking lot, while the other two went a little higher. We rotated the groups every day. We were lucky that some of the graves had already been excavated beforehand. We widened and deepened these so that they were large enough for the game of dog and figurant. The training sessions were well organized and adapted to each dog individually. The weather was warm at first and the snow was gathering fast. Towards the end of the week, however, it started to rain, and it snowed on the top of Vršič pass.

The participants were also introduced to the use of avalanche transceivers and probes. As part of the avalanche course, Andrej Žunič's lecture "Motivation for searching on Avalanche was held. There were also 4 handlers who were involved in the search and rescue mission in Turkey with their dogs. Everyone briefly told how the rescue took place, what they had to deal with in difficult circumstances and what they will change in training their dog as a result of their experience. The dog handlers from Kranj supported their lecture with photos that clearly showed how strong the earthquake was and how difficult the rescue was for both the dog handlers and the dogs.

At the end of the week, it was time to show how well we trained during the week. Since most of the participants were registered for the exam, we started with the exams already on Friday 24.3. and continued on Saturday and Sunday. The exams were judged by FCI judge Ljubo Meglič. From DVRPS, Miha Kavčič with Nala (RH-L A) and Nataša Bregar with Cubo (RH-L V) attended the exam. Nataša successfully passed the exam and Miha did not.
